Trethowan’s Dairy, Somerset
Notes: Meaty and succulent.

UNPASTEURISED

Not only did this cheese win ‘Best Cheddar’ at the 2021 World Cheese Awards, it was placed fourth in the ‘World’s Best Cheese’ category. Quite a feat from Todd and Maugan Trethowan, the cheesemaking brothers.

Pitchfork Cheddar is a relatively new addition to the shop, but it has certainly landed with a bang. Produced at "Neals Yard Dairy", this strong unpastuerised cheddar which hails from Somerset gives you everything you need from a good cheese. Depth and complexity of flavour, strong taste and the hint of salt crystalisation. If you are looking for a great cheese to have on a cheese board or even a "Ploughmans" lunch, look no further.
